Forest Industry

The forest industry in the Grande Prairie is quite significant. Although only one mill is located within City limits (Canfor), two other mills, Weyerhaeuser and Ainsworth, are located just outside and contribute to the local economy.

• Weyerhaeuser Canada Ltd. – Bleached Kraft Pulp Mill
• Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd. – Oriented Strand Board Plant.
