Agriculture

Agriculture is an integral part of the economic strength of the Peace Region.  The region has approximately 9.8 million acres of farmland, comprising about 20% of the provincial total.

The Peace Country is an internationally recognized producer of high quality creeping red fescue used in the turf grass industry and is the world’s largest producer with annual export sales of over $28 million.

The region is also responsible for producing 4.5 million kilograms of honey annually, supplying the largest share of Canadian honey.
