Proximity to Markets
The City of Grande Prairie is the largest city in Northwest Alberta. Its distance from other major centres makes it the strategic hub for regional trade and commerce. The highways network to and from Grande Prairie is essential to the area’s economy, providing access to Northern Alberta, Northeast British Columbia and the Centre East portion of Alberta. Convenient access to the City is ensured by Highway 43 to Edmonton, a four-lane highway through most of its corridor.
Additionally, the regional airport is expanding to accommodate its current annual traffic growth rate of over 20%. The railroad system also allows for direct access to the seaport in Prince Rupert, BC.
