Grande Prairie Citizen Satisfaction Survey

The vast majority of Grande Prairie residents believe the quality of life in the city is good. Ninety-two per cent of residents surveyed in the 2011 City of Grande Prairie Citizen Satisfaction Survey provided that rating while 19 per cent gave the community a “very good” standing.

Entrepreneurship matters, particularly at the local level. Looking at a wide range of indicators on the presence, growth, health and policy environment for small business ownership and entrepreneurship, Western Canadian cities dominate the list for 2010. Alberta metropolitan areas occupy five of the top 10, including top ranking Grande Prairie. Lloydminster, on the Alberta-Saskatchewan border is close behind, followed by two more Saskatchewan communities, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.

Grande Prairie – 4th Best Place to Live in Canada

MoneySense Magazine ranked 108 Canadian communities on economic diversity, median house prices, median family income, population growth, unemployment rate, weather and leisure.  Grande Prairie rated fourth overall after Leamington, Ontario, Guelph, Ontario, and Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. In the “quality of life” category, Grande Prairie ranked higher than all the Alberta cities, including Calgary, Edmonton and Red Deer.
